When we pioneered the first virtual music concert with “Lopa and Joy” on June 6th, the original idea was to share a message of hope by bringing music and joy to people’s homes during this challenging time. However, we received overwhelming response and gratitude from the artists as this helped them to support the families of their accompanying musicians inspiring us to continue this movement since the situation has worsened further for them.
On August 15th, 2020, Bay Area Prabasi hosted a virtual music concert by Anindya and Upal of Chandrabindoo. The duo regaled our audience for two hours with a wide selection of their popular numbers like, Bhindeshi tara, Sona mon, E bhabeu phire asha jaye and many more, as well as heartwarming stories of their journey as a band and as friends together. They were in great spirit and form. Not only did they share their upbeat music with us but also fun stories of their albums and trips including their wonderful experience with Bay Area Prabasi on their first tour to the US. The concert was held to provide support to the musicians and artists in our beloved Bengal, those who need us to stand by them because their work has come to a halt during these unprecedented times of the global pandemic.
Once again, we will be bringing to our community a pure soulful divine Classical Music concert this Saturday, August 30th, with none other than Kaushiki Chakraborty. She will be joined with the promising Madhubanti Bagchi.
This concert is in tribute to the legendary giant in the field of Indian Classical music, Padma Vibhushan Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj..
Sunday, August 30, 2020 @ 10:00 AM (PDT)
