BAY AREA PRABASI – Durga Puja 2022

This year, we are excited to unveil our new Durga Pratima and Mandap Decoration by Kolkata pandal artist from Kolkata to our members, guests, and visitors. We are also thrilled to announce that after the pandemic pause, we will bring back both Kolkata and Bollywood during the mega event. Our Saturday night Bollywood singer is Benny Dayal, and you can expect an electrifying performance. Sunday afternoon, we will host our favorite vocalist and pianist duo from Kolkata, Sourendra and Soumyajit.

Besides these professional musical performances, we will have over 150+ local cultural participants from our local talents. Of course, for those who have visited us, you know the variety of stalls we have at our mandap. The food is simply irresistible, and the shopping experience is unparalleled. Kumari Puja an essential part of durga puja, during which girl who has not reached puberty is worshipped symbolically as a goddess. Kumari puja will be held at the day of Navami puja on Sunday October 2nd, 1:00 PM at Bay Area Prabasi.

For non-members: Please note that there is a one-time token cost of $51 to cover the cost of the puja and priest. You only need to dress up your little one for the puja. We’ll take care of all the rest. The cost needs to be paid by Sep 30th.

For Members – this is included in your membership, however, we’ll welcome donations to cover the pujo and priest costs.

Benny Dayal is an Indian playback singer. He is a prominent singer in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati and Marathi and more languages films. He has sung more than 3500 songs in 19+ Indian languages. In 2009 he won the RD Barman award for new musical talent for the song “Kaise Mujhe Tum” (film: Ghajini)

The pianist-vocalist duo created their own soundscape in collaboration with many composers, songwriters, performers, and music producers of their times. They composed music across various genres with experimental musicians to classical musicians, Bollywood playback singers to ghazal maestros to folk legends in India. They collaborated with them on curated projects where these legends and artists feature. The football Legend PELE has sung with the duo, Asha Bhosle has voiced for this young composers duo.

Their first movie music composition brought them the Indian MMA awards. The duo’s music series TAGORE & WE got them the ABP Samman and recognition all across the globe as distinct inventors of a new interpretation of Rabindrasangeet which got great accolades from the famous lyricist, poet, and author – Gulzar. .They also featured in Stoppok’s German Album Stoppok Hits in 2007 called Dein Gluck – Indische version.
