Fashion Show “Saptapadi”
“Saptapadi” is a captivating Bengali wedding-themed fashion show crafted by Saoli Biswas in association with Bay Area Prabasi. It features exquisite designs from the Fashion House Pia Ka Ghar. This event showcases the intricate beauty of Bengali wedding attire, blending traditional elegance with modern flair. Each ensemble tells a story of love, commitment, and the vibrant rituals that define a Bengali wedding. “Saptapadi” is not just a fashion show; it’s a journey through the seven sacred steps that unite two souls in a lifelong bond, brought to life through stunning fashion and timeless artistry. This “one-of-a-kind” fashion show is graced by Guru Sanjib Bhattacharya, featuring his exemplary dance choreography in the dance segments. Please mark your calendar for October 12th, 6:45 PM onwards at Bay Area Prabasi Durga Puja, Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.

Rediscover Rabindranath Tagore’s dance drama – Chandalika, which was inspired by an ancient Buddhist tale – anew. This novel adaptation of Chandalika, draws together 100 community dancers and actors to portray a tale of deep discrimination and rejection, followed by a simple act of kindness that leads to overreaching, suffering, and, ultimately, redemption. Innovative choreography, rich costumes, and inspiration from multiple compositions of Tagore allow for a fresh perspective of this well-loved dance drama.
