Happy New Year from Bay Area Prabasi
While 2021 was another Pandemic year-the passion and strength of the Bay Area Prabasi community served as a bright spot— through times of challenge, struggle, and uncertainty for many of us.
Here are some of the highlights of 2021.
- Launched Project Breathe to help save lives in India
- Sent 500 Concentrators to West Bengal
- Distributed medicine kits and pulse oximeters
- Donated an ambulance to support health services in rural West Bengal
- Launched a revamped website and membership management system
- Procured new Idols for our Puja celebration and supported potters in Kumartuli, West Bengal during the Pandemic
- Welcomed the highest number of member families in the last 10 years
- Celebrated our Durga Puja in Chabot College and hosted Kavita Krishnamurti Bollywood concert while following all Covid safety protocols
- Supported and showcased local cultural events throughout the year
In the next few weeks, we will welcome our new board of directors and our advisors, celebrate our first event of the year, Saraswati Puja, and launch our 2022 Philanthropic initiative in the area of primary education.
