Dr. Prithviraj Banerjee
Prithviraj Banerjee has been a patron of Bay Area Prabasi since 2007. He has been active in various Prabasi activities over the years. Specifically he was part of the organizing committee of the NABC 2009 conference and was Co-Chair of the NABC Business Forum. He was also a key member of the organizing committee of the NABC 2017 conference and was Co-Chair of the NABC Business Forum. He has served on numerous community organizations in other cities such as President of the East Central Illinois Bengali Association, and the Executive Committee of the Bengali Association of Greater Chicago, and Chairman of Banga Mela 2005. He has served on various non-profit Boards such as the Anita Borg Institute for Women, the Pan IIT Board, and the Board of Advisors of the University of Illinois College of Engineering. Prithviraj has also served on various public company Boards such as Cray, Inc and CUBIC Systems, and on various private company Boards such as Turntide Technologies, and Accelchip, and the Technical Advisory Board of Ingram Micro, Cypress Semiconductor, Atrenta, Calypto, and Virsec. He received his B.Tech in Electronics from IIT Kharagpur, and M.S. and PhD. from University of Illinois. He spent his first 20 years in academia as a Professor, Chairman and Dean at the University of Illinois and Northwestern, and the past 10+ years in the corporate world as Director of HP Labs, CTO of ABB and CTO of Schneider Electric. He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Ansys, Inc. He lives in Palo Alto, CA with his wife Swati and they have a son Swaraj who is married to Anurati.
