We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Mrs. Sapna Majumdar on Sunday, June 6, 2021

Sapna is survived by her husband Mr. Dipak Majumdar, and her two sons, Rahul and Rohit, and their families.  Dipak and Sapna have resided in the Bay Area since 1987. Both have been an integral part of the Bay Area Bengali community all these years and have contributed for many years to the building of Bay Area Prabasi.  She served as a cultural lead in the Bay Area Prabasi Board. She was also a much sought-after singer and participated in the original Prabasi production of Mahalaya and was also part of the Banani Ghosh production at the NABC held in Los Angeles.

Sapna leaves behind endearing memories as a devoted wife, mother, and as generous friend. She was a vibrant spirit who accomplished every task with near perfection; her affable and exuberant energy made her dear to countless families and friends.  Through her vibrant, physical presence will be dearly missed by all whose lives she has touched, her spirit endures in our hearts forever.  May our sincere condolences and prayers give comfort and strength to her grieving family.
